Ethical Implications of AI that Acts Like You
Reid McIlroy-Young et al

Mimetic models utilize artificial intelligence to mimic the behavior of human beings in certain tasks or while generating language. Ethical issues arise with the existence of these algorithms, as they can simulate the actions of specific individuals. Using mimetic models, humans can prepare for social scenarios, improve the function of chatbots, or automate the creation of messages.

Modulating Hippocampal Gamma Oscillations using Posterior Cingulate Cortex Stimulation
Carlos Davila et al

Neuromodulation through closed-loop brain stimulation can help restore the ability to encode memories for patients with memory disorders. Researchers have developed a brain-computer interface system to stimulate the posterior cingulate cortex, raising oscillatory activity in the hippocampus and improving memories that are subsequently formed.

What Is Consciousness?
Dr. Michael Graziano

Michael Graziano, a psychology professor at Princeton, explains his theory of consciousness, the Attention Schema Theory. This says that consciousness can be defined as subjective awareness, and that such awareness is constructed in a representative model. Based on this theory, consciousness can be emulated like any other function of the brain.
