Brain

The principal organ of the nervous system, the operation of which results in most or all of the behavior of the organism.

Usage:

  • The human brain contains approximately 86 billion neurons and roughly the same number of glial cells.
  • Injury to the brain can result in very specific changes to personality and abilities, as in the famous patient H.M. who was unable to form new episodic memories.
